The Department of Human Resources (DHR) manages a comprehensive health and wellness program for the City’s active and retired employees and their families.

For more information about the activities listed below, contact the Employee Benefits office at 404-330-6036.

Log on to your health care provider’s website and complete a Health Risk Assessment form (see the right column below). The assessment will assist you in determining which activity will suit your health care needs.

Also be sure to check out your carrier’s website for additional wellness programs not offered through the Health Center.

Lunch and Learn Series

DHR, in partnership with contracted health insurance vendors and community medical professionals, sponsors a monthly lunch and learn series for employees. Topics focus primarily on key health issues identified by the American Medical Association and the National Institutes of Health. Lunch and learn dates and topics are published here quarterly.

September 2017 – Kaiser and American Heart Association Walk

October 2017 – breast cancer

November 2017 – diabetes

December 2017 – nutrition

Wellness Incentives

BCBS POS and Kaiser Permanente HMO members who are active employees can earn incentives at the end of the plan year (December 2018) for completing wellness activities:

Online Health Risk Assessment ($50)

Onsite biometric screening ($50)

Physical examination with your PCP ($150)

At your medical plan provider’s website, you can find the Health Risk Assessment, as well as instructions for completing the incentives and redeeming your rewards.

Kaiser Permanente members

Go to my.kp.org/cityofatlanta/healthworks

Blue Cross Blue Shield and Lumenos members

Go to MyHealthyLifestyles.com and click the Sign Up button. Enter your information and choose a username and password.

All incentive amounts must be earned by December 31, 2018, and redeemed and rewarded by March 31, 2019.
